Webuye East Member of Parliament Alfred Sambu (Pictured) has urged the national government to include other productions at the Webuye Pan Paper mill as the factory comes to operations in March next year.
Sambu has said that the factory can be of more usefulness if paper conversion is done at the factory beside paper production.
Speaking at the Webuye Pan Paper grounds during Jamuhuri Day celebrations sambu said that if paper conversion is done at the factory more youths will get job opportunities in the mill that had close to five thousand workers.
We want milk cartons, cement bags and tenders from media house to print newspapers and many more so that the economy can grow bigger.
The MP said that his office has partnered up with the ICRAF to ensure that trees are planted on time to have enough raw materials for the factory which closed down in 2008 due to electricity bills among other issues.
Sambu said that the president is highly committed to ensure the mill that was brought to western people by his late father the founder of the nation Mzee Jomo Kenyatta is back to its feet as he had promised the western people during his 2013 campaign elections.
Speaking earlier on at his tour in the Constituency in Ndivisi ward where he donated a bus for Misemwa High School purchased by CDF the mp who is also ANC Chairman said that Pan Paper mill has been sold to the Raiply Company.
