Villagers of Sitabicha in the outskirts of Webuye town woke up to a shock of the year when a coffin was found in the compound of Mr. Augustin Munialo who lives in Nairobi with his family where he works.

According to Moses Soita a caretaker at the home, he woke up at around 7 a.m in the morning to start his daily work and saw the fresh vanished coffin near the gate when he opened the gate to go buy breakfast from the nearest shop.

“I opened the gate to get breakfast and noticed a fresh well vanished coffin that could carry a five year old corpse at the gate, this shocked me because I have never witnessed such an incident in my life and I called neighbours”. Said Moses.

Moses added that he informed his employer as surprised neighbours watched in disbelief and called the police and the area assistant chief  Pius Wanyonyi who confirmed the incident to the members of the press.

Wanyonyi said such a shocking act has never happened to his area of jurisdiction and called for calm from the residents as the police investigate the matter and requested anybody with information to liaise with his office and the police in order to arrest the culprit who was behind the ugly act.

However according to one of the neighbors, this was not the first strange incident to happen in Munialo’s homestead as a few weeks ago they found blood scattered around the compound something they associated to family discrepancies.

The demands of the crowd for the coffin to be opened was shuttered down as the police carried it away to Webuye police station where it was opened before the presence of the media and a few members of the community but to the shock of many the coffin was very clean and totally empty.

The big question now remains as to why the coffin was dropped in that home. An answer every one awaits for the police to investigate and give.
