More than thirty chiefs from Vihiga received motorbikes from the national government to boost service delivery.
Speaking during the handing over of the motorbikes to the administrators the area County Commissioner Mrs. Anne Gakuria said good service delivery is their objective and asked officers to utilize the motorbikes well in serving the locals.
The thirty two motorbikes came at a cost of Ksh 5.6 million and she asked the assistant chiefs to be patients as their bikes will be coming inn in two months’ time.

“We have thirty seven chiefs in the county and only 5 fell short of getting motorbikes but they will get theirs in the next butch that is coming inn in the month of June”, she said.
She encouraged the chiefs to crack down on illicit brew and drug abuse in the county.
“We know most of the illicit brew and other drugs get in from the neighboring counties and it’s our duty to make sure we deal with these menace”, Said Gakuria.
Rogue chiefs in the region were put on the spot over their indulgence in corruption that has tarnished the good name of the administrators.
