A family from Maraka ward in Webuye East constituency Bungoma East is in celebrations after their cow delivered three calves in one delivery on Friday night.
Martin Tulienge the owner of the cow told journalists on Sunday at his home that he did not expect his cow to deliver the three healthy calves.
“I was very much happy after I learned from my wife that our cow which was delivering for the second time had given birth to three health female calves,” he said.
Tulienge who is unemployed and does casual jobs for survival in Webuye town said that the cow was like a blessing to him and he will ensure he takes good care of the calves so that he can use them to pay school fees for his children.
Tulienge a father of four said that none of his animals including two goats and three sheep had ever delivered that way and this was like a miracle.
“I want to increase my animal farming since this is a good sign and show that I have the hand of rearing cows that can help me get out of poverty by selling milk from them,” he said.
He said that the cow had earlier on given birth to one calf in its first delivery but the calf had since died.
He said that he will ensure the three calves survive so that they can also give birth also to three calves.
Neighbors and relatives thronged his homestead to have a look at the rare cow with some saying that it was a puzzle they were yet to unravel.
“I have never seem a cow in the entire of my life delivering three calves but I have seen one that gave birth this is more than strange,” said a neighbor.
