Kolanya Boys High School will represent Busia County in two disciplines at the regional Term One games at Friends School Kamusunga in Bungoma County starting March 22 nd 2016.

Kolanya grabbed the hockey title after beating arch-rivals St Paul’s Amukura 2-0 in the finals at St. Mary’s Mundika High School grounds.

Alvin Ojuma and Dominic Wanani scored a goal each to secure a regional slot which they reached the finals last year.

The team which lost to St Anthony in last year’s finals registered their 1st 1-0 win against Butula Boys, squeezed Sigalame 3-0 in their second match before demolishing Nambale 4-0 to finish at the top of the group A.

Amukura reached the finals after smashing all the teams in pull B including a 2-0 win against its arch rival Mundika Boys.

Moding was crowned the county ladies hockey champion with four points from a 0-0 draw against last year’s champions Nangina and a 2-0 win victory against Chakol girls.

Only three teams were represented in the field with the winner determined through round lobbing.

Nangina finished 2nd with three points from one win with Chakol finishing third with one point from one draw.

Despite losing 26-0 to giant killers Butula in rugby 15s, Kolanya were awarded the match following their successful appeal over claims that Butula fielded nine players who completed form four at the school in 2015.

It was another successful day for Teso North Sub County when Kolanya Girls lifted the basketball title after beating Namboboto 42-24 with Sandra Ekasiba top scoring with 20 points.

It was a bad day for Butula when its volleyball team also lost the title after falling 16-70 to Sigalame in the battle of principals who were both coaches for their teams.
Joseph Were is the coach of Sigalme with Daniel Ouma taking charge of Butula Boys.
