Man shot dead by unknown people in Butere
One man was shot dead by unknown people at Eshirembe area Butere sub county in Kakamega County on Monday early morning at around 6. am while on his way to hunt animals.
According to his wife, her husband received a phone call at 5. am from his friends whom she did not know calling him to go on their daily work of hunting animals.
“My husband received a phone call at around 5. am from his friends whom I did not know calling him to go and hunt animals as always. He walked out of bed prepared himself and left the house.” She said
She added that she heard a gunshot just a few distance from their home but did not imagine that it could be her husband being shot because it was already morning.
Area chief Mr. Aggrey Maina Makokha said the dead Javan Moi Inganga who is 36 years was found with his dogs lying beside him and a bag that had his hunting materials.
Remains of the bullets were carried by the police officers to Kakamega for investigation to identify the kind of a gun that was used.
Body of the deceased was carried to Mumias mortuary, as the police officers has started further investigation into the incidence.
