The Bungoma county senator Moses Wetangula has rubbished the idea of Kakamega county ODM leaders and part of the elders who were calling upon him to launch his presidential bid in Nairobi and not Kakamega given that he intends to rule Kenya and not the western region.

Responding to the calls Wetangula has said that he will launch his presidential bid next Saturday at Muliro gardens given that it is the capital town of the former western region.

Wetangula has also rubished claims that he did not consult ODM as a party on the launch explaining that he is in deep consultations and agreement with those who matter in the party and his co-principles Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka will be present.

Leaders from the Luhya elders forum speaking in his favor said that they are in preparations to ensure that the next Saturday’s event is a success.

Led by the forums vice chair Burudi Nabwera, the elders said they were fully behind the Senator and are looking forward to a successful event.

Besides this, the senator has questioned the parastatals appointments  made by the president on Thursday, saying they are not in line with the constitution.

According to Wetangula, the president appointed four people from the Kikuyu tribe and three others from Kalenjin living all the other Kenyan tribes out.

“How are the other communities going to get representation from this, talk of the small communities in Kenya, how fair are such appointments?” Questioned Wetangula.

He further called upon the president Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure equality in distribution of national resources giving an example of the equalization fund given to a single tribe in Turkana yet according to the constitution it should benefit a number of hardship regions.

Wetangula called upon the president to act constitutionally for the benefit of all Kenyans irrespective of their race.

Besides, he has condemned the high cases of corruption and sidelines in public appointments being witnessed in the country.

Wetangula says that if given a chance to lead Kenya, he will tackle the cases and ensure that all those with unaccounted for wealth will be put to account.

He says that as a leader he is distressed with being excluded in public appointments explaining that if the trend goes on then it is likely to cause future leadership discomfort.
