Father in Hamisi kills son for cooking ugali
A seven years old boy was yesterday night beaten to death by his father after preparing supper without his father’s consent in Isikura Village, Shiru sub location in Hamisi Sub County in Vihiga.
It is said that the class two – pupil who has been living with the father had prepared Ugali and sukuma wiki before his father’s return in the evening.
According to the area assistant Chief Esther Nikoche, the suspect Maurice Bulemi was living with his son after they separated with his wife.
She said the suspect cut his son’s hands with a Panga before ascending on him with kicks and blows.
“I got a call from one of the villagers that the suspect had beaten his son to unconscious state before being rushed to Kaimosi Jumia Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” said Nikoche.
She said the body of the deceased has been moved to Vihiga County Referral Hospital mortuary for post – mortem examinations.
She said the suspect is on the run and police are in hot pursuit after him.
Nikoche has advised couples in the area to settle their marital problems without involving the children.
Isikuta villagers are still left in a somber mood and in fear after that bizarre incident.
