“I was touched by the lives of this friends and decided that the small I have I will share with the poor people in the community, they are the reason why I have succeeded in life, am challenging other organizations to partner with me so that we are able to assist the less fortunate people in the society,” said Waswa.
Pastor Joseph Mukolwe of the Restoration of hope ministry international church said that his church which is partnering with the foundation and friends from Australia has accommodated 30 boys who were former Chokoras and is educating them give them the true meaning of life so that they can live like any other person in the society.
“Three boys are now class eight candidates and we are happy that they have forgotten all about their street life, what we lack is enough hostels to accommodate them so that we can take in the remaining 40 boys who are still roaming in the streets of several towns in this county,” he said.
Mukolwe called on the legislatures to pass the bill in parliament that will allow street children above 18 years to get Identification Cards and those still young to access birth certificates with much ease so that they can be registered for national examinations.
