National Secondary Schools Term One Games

The National Secondary School Term One Games for 2016 opened in Friends School Kamusinga on 12^th April 2016 and will close on Saturday 16^thApril 2016 when the 2016 champions will be crowned.

The Games feature Boys and Girls Hockey, Basketball, Swimming and Boys Rugby.

The Teams competing are Kenya’s best secondary schools in those games including Friends School Kamusinga, Maseno School, Kakamega High School, St. Brigids, Upper Hill Nairobi, Alliance High School, Kangaru School, Bungoma High School, Wajir High, Sirigoi, Shinyolo Girls, St. John’s Kaloleni, Mang`u High, Kapenguria High, Buruburu, Kirigara among others.

The youths of Western Kenya and more so of Bungoma county and Kimilili Constituency this secondary school games extravaganza is a golden opportunity to watch their peers compete and demonstrate sportsmanship.

The games are sponsored by Brookside Dairy and Strathmore University.

The people of Bungoma County are implored to turn out in large numbers and enjoy watching the talented youth of Kenya display other skills in the various games on display.

The business Community in Kimilili town will for the five days the games run also enjoy brisk business as they serve the participants of the games.

Sports is big business worldwide and the Counties of Western Kenya must promote it as One of the avenues of tackling youth unemployment.
