Ruto, Sang  prayers in Nandi marred with chaos

It was total disgust and disgrace to the residents of Nandi county when a prayer ceremony at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Kapsabet that was meant for thanksgiving of Deputy president William Ruto and Radio Journalist Joshua Arap Sang for their case termination by ICC, turned to a scene of chaos by a section of youths who were ferried by one of the suspected politicians in Nandi.

The chaos erupted a mid time of speeches when the women representative of Nandi county   Zippora Kering was hackled and rejected not to make any speech on ground that she ferried some hooligans to come and disrupt the meeting that was purely meant for prayers.

It took some time to calm the crowd though there was no single security men a situation which forced the public to intervene and try as much to restore order but their efforts proved them futile.

Those in attendance included the Nandi county governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat, women rep Zippora Kering and Members of the County Assembly who were forced to leave earlier to join their colleagues in the neighbouring county of Uasin Gishu for a well planned and organized celebrations.

Majority of residents blamed the governor for poor arrangement of the meeting as it didn’t even reflect a meeting for prayers asking him to be planning well in future for such celebrations not instantly the way he had done.

They lamented that Deputy President William Ruto is their leader and should  be respected in any way condemning those who came purposely to disrupt a meeting planned for prayers.

“It was really a bad reputation to the people of Nandi.”  They  all chorused in unison.

Kapsabet Ward Member of the county Assembly Fredrick Kipkemboi called on the public to uphold peace and  live together in harmony urging them to be Ambassadors of peace wherever they are for a prosperous Nation.
