While addressing www.westfm.co.ke after visiting West Media Ltd studios in Bungoma, the country director of Deutsche Welle Jutta von Hoffe said that the only way to reach their audience is by providing good content which relates to the needs of their audience and also by giving them a chance to participate by feeling they are part of the media house.

Hoffe added that as Deutsche Welle their main task is through the Deutsche Welle Academy (DW A) where they do training for journalists all over the world in order to enhance their standards ion reporting and interviewing skills.
She added that they also do consultancy for media managers, owners, directors so as to improve the organisational side of media houses and also to support funding and new financial resources.
Hoffe added that they started the collaboration with different media houses in Kenya in 2014 when they decided to come to the Western part of Kenya due to devolution.

She said due to devolution many new small media houses have popped up that require more support via content development and capacity building.
She further added that in the upcoming years they want to work with different media houses, do more capacity building, training and consultancy.
Even though the current project will end in 2018 and she is looking forward that after that the partnership between different media houses including West Media Ltd would grow.
