Former paramount chief the late Sudi Namachanja’s wife Selina Namusonge Sudi has passed on at the age of 98 years being the 98th wife to the late senior chief who had 107 wives.
According to her children Christopher Kilali Sudi 69 and Mary Namuma, their mother has been ailing for long and that she succumbed on the night of 11th May 2016. Kilali said his mum was a role model to them and anyone else who associated with her despite the age.
He said his mother was a farmer and that she treasured education despite herself not having gone to school. She wanted to see that her children gets education to their level best.

“Our late mum and dad taught us the importance of education and that is why we had scholars like Cardinal Otunga,” he said.

Selina a mother of four was married to the Paramount chief in 1936. She was the only widow that was still alive. Her body is at Bungoma Refferal hospital Morgue.
Several leaders have sent their condolences to the family.
Speaker of the County Assembly of Bungoma John Makali said the deceased was welcoming remembering the recent functions that have taken place for the remembrance of the late Chief Sudi.
He urged the leaders from the region to come together and honour the late hero’s widow.
“What I can say is we are happy the Lord gave her that life, she has lived many years that some of us will not live, let us prepare to send her off in a heroic manner,” he said.
