Women have been urged to form or join existing women groups in order to facilitate taking of loans that will help them invest in various projects and also support their families.
Speaking in Mwananchi Village in Kimini, during the Lumwema Women’s salams club meeting the club’s chairlady Redemta Wanyonyi, said women need to join groups to be able to access loans that can help them boost their businesses, and also support their families instead of depending on their husbands.

She urged women forming groups to allow a certain percentage of men to join them, saying men should not be left behind in matters to do with development.
“Our salams club have allowed some few men and we are grateful because they are of great importance in our club though we as the women manage the club”, said Redemta.
The chairlady added that the Government has created the women enterprise fund kitty for all women in this country, and the money can only be accessed through formation of groups.
She said women need to wake up and realize the availability of opportunities that might change their lives through engaging in productive businesses.
Redemta said their salaams club has helped change the life of so many women who are members and want to open small business or boost their business because they give out loans and the intrest is affordable to all of them.
“In Lumwema Women Salams club we give loans to our members and also we have begun some projects that will boost the group” added the chairlady

Speaking in the same function Francis Ngutuku who is the organizing secretary of Lumwema Women salaams club said they support their women in all means because they have realized the club has changed them because the women support their families due to the money they get from the club.
Ngutuku said that so many men were adamant to allow their women to join the club, because they thought they were wasting time and they were not focused, but when they realized that the women are doing great work they decided to support them fully.
“Am happy because my fellow men have now embraced and realized the importance of allowing their women to join other women in groups, because now they just don’t depend on men to provide for the family”. Said Ngutuku
He urged men to allow their women to join or form groups because the groups have very many benefits
Lumwema Women Salams Club is a club formed by West Fm fans from different parts of Trans Nzoia County and it has over twenty women and few men it was formed to empower women
