A war has elicited in Musalia Mudavadi’s party Amani National Congress Party (ANC) Kakamega county leadership office between the sitting office and a recently formed one with both claiming to be the appointed group.

Addressing the press, the sitting office led by their chairman Geofrey Nashiali and secretary general Isaac Otiende, categorically stated that they are the ones in office given that grassroots elections have not yet been conducted.

Nashiali accused the other office indicating that they are out with a hidden agenda asking them to keep off the party’s leadership at the county.

Nashiali said that the ANC  head office in Nairobi is not aware of any leadership changes and still know of his office.

He has sounded a warning to Hon. Julius Arunga the former Khwisero MP for purporting to be the chairman in Kakamega county asking him to follow the political party rules in getting such a position.

“The ANC national office does not know of any changes in the Kakamega county leadership and thus I ask Major Malala and Julius Arunga to stop confusing the members.” Said Nashiali.

His deputy chair Benson Abuyabu said that when Major Malala and his group left ODM to join their party, they warmly welcomed them and even requested a few leaders to step down and create positions to suit him and those he came with.

He said that Malala for instance was assigned the county executive council member and does not see how he could have moved in as a visitor and overturned the leadership.

He has sounded a warning to aspirants who are out to vie on the ANC party ticket to use the office that has always been in existence saying that the other one might be having a hidden agenda.

He further called upon those who have registered with the other leadership as members to confirm their membership with the office saying that the exercise was ongoing without the knowledge of the head office.

Abuyabu said that the Malala led team maybe is being used by some people out to fail the party because their agenda is not straight.

For the aspirants, he said that there will be no direct nominations and so no one should be lured into giving out money on promises of direct nominations.

Malala was formerly the ODM chairman Kakamega county while Julius Arunga was a member of the federal party.

They dissolved the leadership of ANC Kakamega county early this year on basis that the office was not operational and thus not favorable in winning people as members before the next elections, a move that has been objected by the old office.
