Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga has thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s move to meet opposition leaders at state house and urged the leaders to embark on dialogue.
Akaranga said the president and the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) principals should embrace dialogue over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Board (IEBC) to avoid potential chaos that might erupt after the next general election.
“I am happy and I thank the president for meeting the CORD core principles although they didn’t discuss about the IEBC case,” he said,” They should discuss about the matter and find a suitable solution.” He added.
The County boss insisted on the importance of dialogue cautioning that the country could be blanked in another post-election violence after 2017 polls.
“It would be good if the leaders talk about the matter before the next general elections to avoid potential chaos that might disrupt peace,” Akaranga said.
He warned locals to avoid being involved in unnecessary wrangles due to the pressure of the opposition leaders and government officials.
“I urge local citizens to avoid such scenarios that might cause chaos that could destabilize this Country.” He said.
