A somber mood has engulfed Mitukuyu Village, Lugusi sub-location of Webuye sub county after a form three student was found murdered on the roadside in unclear circumstances a few kilometers from their home.
Kelvin Katami Mulati, a student of Mitukuyu secondary school was found dead on the road by fellow students who were going to school school.
According to Lugusi location Chief Samuel Nayombe, the students who were going to school at around six in the morning saw him and raised alarm waking up neighbors who rushed at the scene and found the deceased’s lifeless body lying on the road with several injuries.
The chief revealed that that according to reports from the family, the late had had some differences with his younger brother Wilson Waswa over a phone before the incident.
The deceased’s suspected brother, Wilson was arrested together with his first cousins Ben Kola and Richard Sasaka as accomplices over allegations of killing Kelvin and they are being held at the Webuye police station.
Bungoma East OCPD Isaac Odumbe said they are investigating the matter with the help of the three suspects and in case they are linked to the murder; they will be tried in court.
The OCPD has asked the ‘wananchi’ who may have information on the matter to cooperate with the police and give information that may help with further investigations.
However, he cautioned youths to always solve their differences amicably urging them to engage the elders and parents if they can’t handle the situation on their own.
The body of the late was taken to Webuye sub county hospital mortuary as it waits for postmortem.
