Kakamega county secondary schools football champions the Green Commandos of Kakamega High school, booked a place to play finals against their Counterparts Butere boys after showing off Chebuyus high 3-0 in the semi final.
The Green Commandos had earlier on beaten Muslim boys 3-0 after they had thrashed Ekambuli 6-0 in group B battle.
Talking after beating Chebuyus in the semi final, the Green Commandos head coach, Brendan Mwinamo praised his boys saying it only needed team work which to them was in their tips.
“Am very proud of my team for qualifying to the final. The boys showed plenty of respect and team work which kept them moving to clinch a slot in the final.”
However, Mwinamo explained his confidence in representing the county in the regional games which are yet to commence next month in Turkana county.
“Now we are looking forward in the final match against Butere whom we comprehend are also focused and determined. Our target is representing the county in the regional games in Turkana county come next month.”
In yesterdays matches, Mukumu drew 1-1 with Musingu before Chebuyus beat Lugari 2-1 to qualify for the semi final.
In the semi final two, Butere came from behind to beat Musingu 3-2 booking a place in the final with Kakamega High school champs.
The final is anticipated to be played today at the Mumias complex stadium between The green commandos and Butere boys.
Only one team will represent Kakamega county in the regional games which will be held in Turkana county from 12th of July.
