Business activities at Kipkarren market were temporarily disrupted after a man alleged to have committed infidelity suffered serious injuries on his manhood.
According to eye witnesses, drama started when the victim, identified as Mr. Kennedy Lihanda Chamunge, was caught in bed with another man’s wife in the backstreets of the busy market.
“The man was caught red handed in bed with another man’s lady at Kasarani estate behind the market,” said an anonymous source, adding the two were having fun inside the wife’s house.
The source further told journalists that the victim, believed to be in his late 30’s, was ejected from the house by a group of irate youths who violently chopped and pulled his private parts, causing serious damages to him.
“The youths are suspected to have been hired by the wife’s husband,” added the source.
Good Samaritans rescued and rushed the victim to a nearby clinic in full glare of traders and members of public.
The incident, which attracted a large crowd of people, brought to a standstill trading activity at the busy market, which sits on the boundary between Kakamega and Uasin Gishu counties along the busy Eldoret – Webuye highway.
A clinician in charge of the facility, Mr. David Katebes administered first aid before he referred the patient to Moi teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret.
But speaking to West media from his bed at the clinic, Lihanda gave a contradicting version to the incident.
“I spent the better part of the day at a drinking den where I entertained some friends with glasses of chang’aa , including a woman, before I left for home,” said Lihanda, who stays at Mabanga village in Chekalini location.
The victim claimed it was while on his way home that he was abruptly ambushed by unknown man, “who hit me several times using a dangerous weapon,” added Lihanda.
His assailants, including youths, the husband and wife, disappeared and by time of going to the press nothing had been so far reported on their whereabouts.
“What I basically did was to arrest the bleeding,” said Katebes, who confirmed the man had disconnected his genitals’ main blood vessel after violent pulls leading to excessive bleeding.
“The man might in the long run survive with his genitals in case doctors succeed in rejoining the spilt artery,” added Katebes.
While a section of the public that spoke to the media condemned the manner in which Lihanda was mistreated by his assailants, some believed the act served the man right.
“This should be a huge lesson to all infidels out there,” a local woman trader remarked
