The son to senator for Trans Nzoia county Henry Ole Ndiema, Leonard Ndiema was laid to rest at their Chorlim Home of Endebess constituency on Saturday 10th of June 2016.
Leonard Ndiema who died at 31 years was Senator Ndiema’s first born son. Born in 1985 in Nairobi, Leonard spent most of his life in the city. He went to Bellevue primary school, and later joined Alliance Boys High school before enrolling at the University of Nairobi for a course in bachelor of computer electronics.
The late has left behind a widow and a son, Francis, who was named after pope Francis when the he visited Kenya on November 2015.
He passed away on 27th June when he had visited his ailing son at a hospital in Nairobi where he collapsed and confirmed dead after sometime.
Several politicians led by the speaker of the senate Ekwee Ethuro thronged the senators home to pay their last respects to his son.
Ekwee Ethuro thanked the church for the role it played in seeing that the nation is united by appealing to politicians to cultivate an atmosphere of dialogue and resolve the disputes that was surrounding the IEBC stalemate.
He said the church was a unifying factor in seeing that politicians speak in one voice and sit together to address the issues adding that it ensured an amicable solution that will make the nation move forward is reached.
Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses wetangula appealed to all leaders to work together in seeing that they resolve the disputes surrounding the I.E.B.C so that the nation goes to election scheduled for next year as a united front
He said the opposition is concerned with the developments going on over the matters concerning IEBC and its their wish that next year’s General elections is held transparently and results announced reflects to what has been on the ground.
Nandi county senator Stephen sang appealed to leaders to put all their energies and give their views to the committee formed in the parliament on matters concerning the electoral body saying it was unlawful now for leaders to discuss the IEBC in funerals while they already understand that there was a correct procedure that should be followed as per the constitution.
