Ababu Namwamba, the Budalangi constituency member of parliament has dismissed allegations that he is being used by the Jubilee government to divide the Luhya vote. Ababu termed the allegations as false and malicious.
Speaking at West FM studios on Monday, Namwamba wondered why when Western politicians quit ODM, they are branded as traitors. He mentioned when the Deputy President William Ruto, Najib Balala, Charity Ngilu and Norman Nyagah quit the party, they were not branded as traitors as they insist he is a traitor.

He highlighted some reasons why he decided to resign as Secretary General of ODM party citing disrespect that he has been receiving from party officials and neglecting his efforts to bring changes in the party to an extend of labeling him as a mole.
“Lack of transparency in ODM elections such as direct nomination, use of men in black to disrupt election are some of the issues the party is unwilling to change” noted Namwamba.
He said his focus is to ensure that Luhya community has a political bargaining power in the country such as the Central and Rift Valley regions that enjoys monopoly of politics in the country due to their unity.
“I look forward to see Luhya community embrace unity in order for us to have a political power in the national politics.” Ababu observed.
He apologized to Mudavadi for ignoring his advice, saying the Amani National Congress leader had told him to leave the Orange Democratic Movement party earlier, but he ignored and went on campaigning in Western Kenya selling ODM policies in the region, something that he has come to regret because of how the ODM party leaders have treated him.
He maintained that he is still an ODM member and he will quit later although he did not hint his next political destination.
