The CS for Labour,Phyllis Kandie, and the International Labour Organization Director ,Mary Kawar, today launched the Sheria Za Leba app in a press conference that was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upperhill,Nairobi.
The mobile app was launched with its main aim being to create an enabling environment in the Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises.
According to Mary Kawar, “An enabling business environment is key to the creation and development of sustainable enterprises.”
The labour sector in our country has in the past suffered as a result of ignorance and illiteracy among most of the population and especially those in the Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises.

Most of the population in this sector lack knowledge about their rights and freedoms as pertaining to workforce laws.
Such is the population that has in the past been seen to be beyond law limits but with the app they will be closer to the law as it will also be available in Swahili version.
The laws will be interpreted in simple terms as per the constitution dispensation and as a result boost economic growth as well as tap into a big part of the GDP.
According to the Permanent Secretary Khadija Kassachom Kenya will be, “A modern country where labour laws are handled within intelligence.”
The mobile app that is available on Google Play store and iOS by the end of the week is aimed at bringing closer labour laws and promoting the decent work agenda .
Alot of information regarding employment and rights at the workplace is also contained in the app and will assist in bringing sanity to the world of decent work.
Laws that have in the past been hidden in books will now be easily accessed by everyone in the click of a button.
Launching of the app is considered a landmark in the Labour sector.
