The chairman for Agricultural Development Corporation Sylvester Bifwoli Wakoli has criticized the parliament for passing a bill that seeks to curb party hopping terming the decision by MPs as misplaced. Speaking to the press in Kitale town, the chairman argued that the MPs will regret in future when the law takes effect and it will affect them first because they hastily passed a draconian law.

Wakoli said that there is no democracy in the existing parties in Kenya and most of them dwell on corruption, with most leaders being bribed by some aspirants who are unpopular on the ground, causing electorates to elect a person they don’t want because of support from a powerful party leader.

“The MPs’ passage of the bill was in bad faith and the same law will haunt them when is enacted, ” said Wakoli.

The chairman, however, disclosed that he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta for re-election again as he has shown his leadership skills as a statesman and he doesn’t operate on tribal lines.

The leader criticized the opposition’s party, CORD  for failing to articulate the issues affecting the citizen of this country and instead have focused on divisive politics that may set citizens of the country against each other.

He said he fought for the opposition during the last general elections and made sure that all the seats were clinched, but they later left him in the cold. He said President Kenyatta ‘rescued’ him after appointing him as the head of the Agricultural Development Co-operation.

“I campaigned vigorously for the opposition and delivered votes for the opposition with FORD-Kenya, but Wetangula who is the FORD-Kenya party leader left me in the cold together with Raila Odinga,” said Wakoli.

The former MP for Bumula challenged the opposition to put its house in order and name its presidential candidate immediately and stop the attitude of chest thumping that they will win the next elections yet they don’t have their commander they are fronting to face off with President Uhuru Kenyatta

He advised FORD-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula not to be used by the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to drum up support for him and later on be dumped. He described him as crafty and not genuine when it comes to matters pertaining the country’s leadership, something which might not go down well with some supporters. He gave examples of ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Deputy President William Ruto, and the late Wamalwa Kijana as leaders who were used by Raila Odinga.

He warned Moses Wetangula that he will lose miserably if he isn’t supported by Raila Odinga, and will even lose several seats in his backyard, Bungoma County.

And away from politics, on the issue of the county government’s proposal to the national government to offer some land for construction of the county University, the chairman said he has no powers to provide the land for the county but promised to raise the issue during the board’s meeting so that its discussed upon and a solution reached concerning the proposal.

He, however, denied having received any letter requesting the land to be given to the county administration for the construction of the university.
