A twenty-four-year-old woman is recuperating at the Kitale referral hospital after sustaining serious injuries on her boyfriend’s mother scalded her with hot tea at Bituyu village, Kiminini location of Tongaren Sub County.
Confirming the incident Ndalu area senior Chief Gideon Osore Obilo said the lady, identified as Ruth Nafula had gone to visit her boyfriend at their home before she encountered the cruel mother who splashed hot tea on her back injuring her terribly.
He added that the intention of the heinous act is being investigated saying it is unfortunate that the lady had to resort to such an act to solve a matter affecting the youngsters.
He said it took the intervention of neighbors who rushed the injured victim to Ndalu health center and was later referred to Kitale referral hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Chief Obilo called upon residents to desist from using such action to solve conflicts among themselves saying the law of the country provides that every situation must be dealt with under the law and no one is supposed to execute justice in his or her own understanding.
The suspect is currently being held at Kapchonge police station in Tongaren Sub County as police investigate further on the matter.
