Deputy president William Ruto has warned politicians to shun hate speech and heckling. Ruto said the trend of promoting dirty politics should be halted, given that their deeds will determine if they get elected or not.
While addressing listeners at Kaplelmet secondary school in Nandi hills constituency where he was the chief guest in a funds drive for the construction of 72 churches, Ruto urged leaders to join hands to take the country forward. He reminded them that their election to seats of power in the coming general elections is in the hands of the public.
“Only voters will determine your destiny concerning the role you have played in your area,” he added.
He promised Kenyans that the coming general elections will be held peacefully and fairly.
Those in attendance were Governors, Senators, MPs and MCAs from across North Rift Region.
Over three hundred million Kenyan shillings was raised in aid of the construction of the first batch of eighteen churches in total.
