Kakamega county assembly minority leader Titus Marachi Kwoma was arraigned in a Kimilili court for four counts that included being found illegally in possession of property belonging to Kenya Power Company.
Kwoma who is also the Chekalini ward MCA was found with 9 wooden poles, 1000 meter aluminium conductor, transformer, all valued at 2 million Kenyan shillings believed to have been stolen at Mukhe area in Kimilili Sub County and Chekalini area.
The accused denied the charges before Kimilili resident magistrate Dickens Onyango and was to be released on a bond of four hundred thousand shillings or surety of the same amount.
Earlier the accused’s plea to have the bond reduced was denied by the court after he alleged that it was his contractor who brought the materials to his home.
The case will be heard on 22/3/2017.
