It was Joy at Kitale primary school after the release of KCPE results yesterday, after teachers, parents and students realized the school had posted good aggregate results, given that 20 students had scored 400 marks and above.
Headmistress Margaret Wanyonyi attributed good results to hard work from parents, teachers, and students who worked tirelessly and coordinated well to make sure good results were posted.
The headmistress hailed Education CS Fred Matiang’i for the policies set up by his ministry, terming them the best option for genuine results.
Her sentiments were supported by counterpart Hezborn Ngaira who thanked God for the results, disclosing that they made sure the syllabus coverage was done in time.
The first student, Wanjala Francis Wanyonyi, led the pack with 420 marks at the school, results that were celebrated by many.
Elsewhere at Mary Immaculate Primary School, it was dance and celebration after the school posted good results, where three students scored 400 marks and above, with the leading student, Moses Mugusi, having 420 marks.
The third-ranked student at the school, Polycarp Igonji scored 406 marks.
The student accompanied by his father said the secret behind his good performance was discipline and hard work, thanking his parents for making sure his studies weren’t affected by financial constraints.
The student said the news surprised him since he wasn’t expecting the CS to release the KCPE results this soon.
He said he aspires to be a teacher in future to help other children to realize their dreams especially those ones from a humble background like him.
