IEBC is targeting to register 22 million voters as the country gears up for the general elections. Preparations are already underway, amid the debates surrounding analogue and electronic systems of voting, with many Kenyans already registered, and more expected to register once the mass voter registration kicks off on January 16th.
IEBC CEO Chiloba said about 700,000 people applied for the transfer of voting stations during last voter registration, “Those who want to transfer from one voting station to another must go to the constituency office, not ward,” he said.
He said all centres and names of registration officers are to be gazetted by January 13th.
