Kenyans have been urged to pray for the country, and maintain peace and unity as they prepare for the general election in August 2017.

These were sentiments from one of Shalom’s Salaams Club members who is also Keiyo ward MCA Emmanuel Waswa when addressing members of his Club who are West Media fans at Rosemary Makokha’s home in Kolongolo area Trans Nzoia County during their merry-go-round meeting.

“Let us all pray for our country so that we may have peaceful and free elections. Let peace and unity prevail amongst us,” said Waswa, he said citing the need for peace among Kenyans.

Waswa, however, urged youths not to involve themselves with too much politics since some politicians use them for their own interests. He nonetheless urged them to turn up in large numbers to register as voters in the ongoing voter registration exercise so that they may be able to elect leaders who will sort out their issues.

“Don’t accept to be given cash to go and cause chaos in political rallies. You may lose your life and that particular politician will not come to help your family. Use your vote as your weapon, just go and register then vote in leaders that will bring development and leaders that will not encourage corruption,” he added.

Festus Natili, chairman for Shaloms Salaams Club appreciated West Media for being close to them, bringing them together and ensuring that they work together as a club.

He also urged members to observe respect, discipline and more so love each other for the benefit of the group. He highlighted that it is only through love that they will be able to achieve their vision as a group.

“On behalf of our group, I would like to thank West Media for bringing us together and making sure that our unity goes on. I also like to urge members to have high integrity because it is through this that we will be able to realize our dreams in this group,” said Natili.

Members have come together with one goal of progress thus have different projects that they undertake i.e. farming, business and table banking.

Shaloms Salams Club was formed by 3 members namely; Festus Natili, Gadafi Tosha, and Ndaya Junior. It was launched officially on 4/8/2015 with 8 members and now they are 37 members.
