Kolanya Girls National School from Teso North Sub County tops in the number of students who have qualified to join university from Busia County.
The school will send a total of 95 students who scored C+ and above in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams. Sigalame Boys from Samia Sub County is second on the log with 85 set to join various universities.
Butula Boys is third with 76 students qualifying to pursue their university education. Nangina Girls also from Samia are fourth overall with 73 students securing university slots.
However, Nangina Girls is the top school in the county with a mean score of 5.9923. They registered 2A-, 3B+, 13 B, 27B- and 38 C+.
Sigalame took second position with a mean score of 5.8967. They scored 1 A-, 6B+, 13B, 27B- and 38C+. Kolanya Girls took the third position with 5.8930. They got 6B+, 13B, 15B- and 61C+.
Butula Boys, the only other national school from Busia County, were ranked fourth with a mean score of 5.6652. They scored 3A-, 11B+, 20B, 17B- and 25C+.
Lwanya Girls from Matayos took the fifth position with a mean score of 5.4. They produced the top girl in the county in Purity Adhiambo who scored an A- of 77 points.
Chakol Girls from Teso South were placed sixth with a mean score of 5.4. Budalangi Boys (5.01) and Kolanya Boys (4.8) followed in that order.
