The UEFA Champions league semi-finals draw has been outlined, with the Madrid derby the highlight clash in what has been an exhilarating Champions league season. Atletico Madrid will look to rectify any mistakes against Real Madrid, after Los Blancos eliminated them in two Champions League finals, in 2014 and 2016. It will be the fourth year in a row the two Madrid-based teams clash in the Champions League. Atletico Madrid defeated Leicester City in the quarter-finals, while Real Madrid trounced German giants Bayern Munich in a controversial quarter-final. The first leg will be played at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu on 2nd May, while the second leg will be played at the Vicente Calderon on 10th May.

In another clash, Juventus will face AS Monaco, with one of the best defensive teams in the campaign, coming against one of the best attacking teams. Monaco have scored three goals in each of their knockout games this season, while Juventus have conceded no goal, and they shackled the famous Barcelona attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. The first leg will be played at AS Monaco’s Stade Louis II on 3rd May, while the return leg will be played in Turin, Italy on 9th May.

In the Europa League, favourites Manchester United will meet Spanish side, Celta Vigo. Manchester United overcame a tricky opponent on Thursday in the form of Anderlecht-in extra time-winning by two goals to one, and 3-2 on aggregate. Celta Vigo drew 1-1 with Belgian outfit Genk, posting a 4-3 score on aggregate. The Spanish team are a dangerous and tricky, tactical outfit, having posted a 2-1 first leg win against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey in January. The first leg will be played in Spain on 4th May while the second leg will be played at Old Trafford on 11th May. In the other Europa League semi-final, Dutch team Ajax will face French team Olympic Lyonnais, who are also considered favourites for the trophy. The first leg will take place on 4th May while the second leg will be on 11th May.
