FORD Kenya has cancelled Bumula Sub County and West Sang’alo ward in Kanduyi Sub County polls that were conducted on Wednesday 26th April 2017 to be repeated on Friday 28th April 2017.

The party resolved to cancel the entire nomination exercise due to reported delays in distribution of voting materials, violence, destruction of voting materials, shortage of ballot papers and general interference with the voting process in Bumula Sub County.

The board also nullified West Sang’alo ward exercise because one of the aspirants’ name was not on the ballot papers.

Therefore urged aspirants and their supporters to maintain peace as the exercise will begin at 8am and end at 4pm.

Earlier on there was confusion in Kimaeti ward, Siboti ward and Miyanga polling centre where residents lined up to cast their votes but there were no voting materials an issue that led to a peaceful demonstration by residents demanding for voting materials.

“We have been here since morning and it is almost 5pm and we have not seen voting materials brought, therefore, we don’t know what to do but we shall wait for the communication from the party,” one of the Miyanga residents said.

The same exercise conducted on Monday 24th April 2017 in Saboti and Kiminini Sub Counties in Trans Nzoia County was also cancelled and will be conducted on  Friday 28th April 2017.
