A 73-year-old man, who is also a Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) church leader, is in police custody over allegations of that he defiled and seriously injured a 12-year-old deranged girl in Lugari Sub County.
According to information, the incident occurred at Bendera village, Munyuki sub location where the old man, who owns a posho mill, forcefully grabbed the minor when she had been sent to the grinder and dragged her into an old vehicle parked in his compound where he defiled her severally.
It’s further revealed that the suspect, who is a treasurer at Bendera PAG church, warned the girl not to tell anybody about the incident. After reaching home, the minor who lives with her grandmother decided to confide it to the granny who later sort the neighbours’ assistance to get justice.
However, the old man is said to have threatened the victim’s family against taking any legal action against him vowing to deal with anybody who would try to push for his arrest and prosecution.
A good Samaritan decided to take over the issue and took the minor to the nearby Lumakanda Sub County hospital for a medical examination where it was proved and disclosed she had indeed been defiled.
The good Samaritan informed police officers at Lumakanda police station who later on closed in on the old man and arrested him.
Confirming the incident, Officer Commanding Station at Lumakanda William Oyugi revealed that medical reports indicated that the girl, who is a pupil at Lumakanda Township special unity, had been defiled and seriously injured.
The OCS said the suspect was locked up at the station as police launched an investigation into the incident being arraigned in court.
