ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has insisted that electoral body IEBC shouldn’t shame the nation during the general elections, with the handling of votes and the election process. While addressing ODM members during the party meeting in Kasarani, Mudavadi said counting of votes should be done in the constituencies and that IEBC shouldn’t be fazed, “We stress that the constitution says votes will be counted in the constituencies, then why should IEBC worry about that?” he posed. Musalia Mudavadi said that everyone must respect the law.

He said IEBC should tread carefully when it comes to the integrity of returning officers, “We’ve read that IEBC has transferred returning officers to different regions. We don’t want returning officers who’ll be influenced to mess the elections,” said Musalia Mudavadi. The NASA leader said voting is an exercise of utter importance, “Voting is a national security issue, choosing a leader is very important,” he said. He further said that people shouldn’t be bribed or influenced to vote contrary to his or her wish.

In the same meeting, NASA Deputy Presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka criticized aspirants who have jumped ship from the NASA parties to be independent candidates, “To all the aspirants, if after losing to another opponent you decided to be an independent candidate, it means you didn’t understand the vision,” he said.
