Kakamega Governor and ODM Deputy leader Wycliffe Oparanya has said National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is the leader who is designated to make Kenya a prosperous nation through the party. “Through NASA, we are going to create a super nation, that will have super agriculture, super health care, clean water among other things,” said Oparanya, “The bridge to that super nation is Raila Odinga.” While addressing delegates at the ODM National Delegates meeting at Kasarani, Nairobi, to endorse Raila Odinga’s candidature, Oparanya bemoaned the state of the economy and lauded the NASA leadership for sticking together, adding that they’ll save the country.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho criticized the Jubilee government for failing the nation, citing different regions in the country, including Western region, as an example. “In Western Kenya, we all know you depend on Agriculture, you depend on sugar farming, yet Jubilee haven’t helped sugar companies,” said Governor Joho. He said the government has failed companies like Mumias Sugar Company and Nzoia Sugar Company.
He said that the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project wasn’t initiated by the Jubilee government, “The SGR project was initiated by Raila Odinga and Mwai Kibaki, and the price was good. Now the government has come in and hiked the set price used in the project.”
