As politicians countrywide prepare for the general elections, the political matrix in West Pokot County continues to intrigue as days go by. Recently, some Jubilee politicians decamped to NASA in the region ahead of the coalition’s leaders’ visit.
Raila Odinga is expected to drum up support for his presidential bid in the region tomorrow. He will be accompanied by other NASA principals who are set to pitch tent at Makutano town in Kapenguria constituency.
The NASA team will meet delegates at Mtelo hall in Kapenguria before attending a public rally at Makutano town with residents saying they are ready to welcome the team.
Most of the residents said they want to hear from Raila Odinga since the Jubilee government has done little to improve their lives.
The team will be welcomed by political bigwigs in the County led by Sigor MP Philip Rotino and incumbent Woman Representative Regina Nyeris among other Nasa leaders in the County.
Both Rotino and Nyeris decamped from the Jubilee party after the first round of the nominations citing unfair primaries. The two are now forming a formidable team that will rally support for Raila Odinga in the August polls.
