Chelsea captain John Terry scored in their game against Watford on Monday night to cap a memorable record of scoring in 17 consecutive seasons. Despite being a central defender, the former English international has always turned up throughout the years with some bit of goalmouth action, and this being his last season at the London club, the 36-year-old said his penultimate game for the club on Sunday will be more emotional, “It’s a tough day when you’ve been at a club for so long and so many great memories and relationships, friends and managers, so tonight was tough but next week I’ll be in bits,” said John Terry in a post-match interview.

Terry said that he hasn’t ruled out retiring once the current Premier League season ends on Sunday, “It depends if the right offer comes along, I’ll sit and consider with my family, whether it’s here or abroad.” He also said he definitely has plans to enter the coaching fray.

The already confirmed English champions defeated Watford by four goals to three. John Terry opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue equalized a minute later. Chelsea defender Cesar Azplicueta scored his first goal of the season to hand the blue the lead going into the break. Belgian Striker Mitchy Batshuayi scored the Blues’ third goal early in the second half, but the 3-1 lead was cut after Daryl Janmaat scored for the hornets. In the 81st minute, Janmatt scored his second of the game to level the scores, but playmaker Cesc Fabregas scored the fourth goal to restore Chelsea’s lead and win the game. Their final game of the season will be against already relegated Sunderland.
