School heads of both Primary and Secondary schools in Tongaren Sub County have been called upon to be committed to their work so as to be able to help the students and pupils perform well in the national examinations.
Addressing education stakeholders during a fundraising at Friends Secondary School Kiminini, the Tongaren Sub County director of education Williams Kamuguna said as the team leader in the schools the heads have a task of ensuring schools are on the right track.
He applauded the principal of the school Mr Everret Wafula Wamalwa for having in a short period of time been able to consolidate resources to build classrooms at the school after land was bought through the Tongaren CDF kitty saying his hardwork will bear fruits.
Mr Kamugunah further challenged school heads in the Sub County to emulate the principal saying many have been complaining about not having enough to build infrastructure saying with a supportive board and parents they can be able to build a school well.
Kiminini Friends secondary school principal Everret Wafula thanked all the education stakeholders for having helped them set up the school saying it was a challenge before as they were conducting their lessons from a section of the primary school due to congestion.
He said after acquiring the piece of land it is upon them to develop it and have enough infrastructure to enable the students to perform well in their academics saying they are set on establishing the school as a model in the region.
However, he called upon well wishers to help them build a lab and a library as well as an administration block so as to set the school in a stable condition to produce students who are well groomed and are able to pursue good courses.
His sentiments were echoed by area chief Gideon Osore Obillo who called upon parents to ensure they support their children by paying school fees on time and also providing them with their personal effects in school.
