Leaders from West Pokot have termed the Standard Gauge Railway project that was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta a great project that will transform this nation. The leaders slammed the opposition for politicizing development projects in the country.
Led by Governor Simon Kachapin, Labour PS Khadijah Kassachoon and Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto, the leaders said the Jubilee government has done a lot to better lives of Kenyans.
They added the SGR project will open up the region to trade adding that pastoral communities will be able to export their livestock products.
Speaking during the Madaraka day celebrations at Makutano Stadium Governor Kachapin took issue with the opposition for using development projects to lay out political agendas and incite Kenyans.
Moroto called on Kenyans to ignore the lies of the opposition and support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election. The leaders accused the NASA team of using the SGR project to lie to Kenyans and look for sympathy votes.
“The Jubilee team has delivered much to Kenyans. We want Kenyans to scrutinize those vying to ensure they vote for leaders who will care about the interests of all Kenyans,” said Moroto.
Pkossing said that West Pokot is a Jubilee zone and called on residents not to gamble with their votes. He added that the Pokot community will deliver 100 percent votes to the Jubilee government. “We have seen the fruits of the Jubilee government that is why we are rallying behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto,” said Pkossing.
