Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has accused the Jubilee administration of taking the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report for granted.

Speaking in Lugari and Likuyani sub county during his one day tour to drum support for NASA coalition, Mudavadi took a swipe at the Deputy President Ruto for dismissing the report and efforts by the NASA coalition to have it implemented to the letter.

“Jubilee government is not ready to implement the report to ensure that Kenyans who suffered in one way or another are fully compensated as recommended in the report,” said Mudavadi.

He said the report details the past injustices done to  Kenyans some of whom lost their land and lives. “It is not proper for the deputy president to paint the report in a negative light when there are people who deserve compensation.”

He regretted that President Uhuru Kenyatta opted to sweep the report under the carpet despite the fact that he understands the problems pertaining land in Kenya and the historical injustices captured therein.

Mudavadi used the opportunity to woo residents from region to elect ANC candidates for all elective seats during the August 8 election but support NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga bid.

“I would like you to elect the ANC team to give me bargaining power when the NASA five principals meet on the negotiating table after the polls,” said the ANC party leader.

The leader urged locals to turn out in large numbers during the election date to cast their ballots. “You will send a clear message out there that Western is not for auction by coming out to vote,” he said.

According to him, Kenyans should reject the Jubilee administration which he claimed has presided over the increment of national debt from a paltry Kshs. 1 trillion during the grand coalition government regime to a whopping Kshs. 4 trillion.

Lugari MP Ayub Savula and Kakamega governor and senator candidates Mike Osundwa and Cleophas Malala accompanied Mudavadi. Others were the County woman representative candidate Lydia Nyangala and a host of ANC MCAs.

He addressed public gatherings at Kongoni in Likuyani, Panpaper, Lumakanda and Matete  in Lugari sub county.

Savula hit out at the Communications Authority over alleged plans to close down social media platforms ahead of the August polls.

“It is backwardness to close down social media, let constitutional institutions including the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) under Francis Ole Kaparo do their work,” said Savula.
