National Super Alliance (NASA) Co-Principal Moses Wetangula has asked leaders and residents from the former Western Province, especially the Luhya community to stand firm and fight voter apathy, which has turned the region into a laughing stock.

In a series of rallies in Likuyani Sub County, Wetangula said it was disappointing that despite registering as voters, the majority of residents never turned out to cast their votes during the last general elections. He asked all registered voters from the region to come out in large

He urged all registered voters from the region to come out in large numbers and vote for the NASA coalition in the general elections in order to liberate the country from Jubilee’s poor leadership. “The only way we can claim our position in the leadership of this
country as the Luhya community is by ensuring we have a voter turnout which is over 95 percent in the August polls and let’s vote for the NASA coalition in order to bring the deserved changes and sanity in the country,” said Wetangula.

He said the coalition was keen to seal all loopholes that could be used to alter the outcome of the elections. Furthermore, Wetangula scoffed at Jubilee’s recently launched manifesto saying the ruling party should’ve given Kenyans their scorecard instead of a manifesto.

“It’s funny that Jubilee party leaders have launched their manifesto as if they want to be elected for the first time,” he said, “They are talking about free education yet they are unable to fulfil the laptops promise they made last time.”

He said only NASA coalition has the best manifesto for all Kenyans. The NASA co-principal seized the opportunity to defend his decision to halt his presidential ambition in favour of Raila Odinga, saying President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto could only be
extricated from power through a united front.

He said past experience had shown that a coherent opposition was a sure way of handing Jubilee administration another five years term in power. “Mudavadi and I chose to shelve our ambitions for the sake of liberating Kenyans from economic misconduct that has led to present high costs of living,” he told a mammoth crowd at Kongoni, urging voters in the County to vote for the NASA presidential candidate as a block.

The Ford Kenya party leader assured his supporters that he still had presidential ambition and will vie for the seat in future.

During the Sunday tour, Wetangula who was accompanied by Kakamega Senator Dr. Bonny Khalwale, Kiminini MP. Chris Wamalwa and their host Likuyani MP Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy officially opened the Sango bridge in Sango ward and Likuyani NGCDF office at Kongoni which were constructed by the CDF funds.
