Two of the former western province incumbent governors and West Pokot sitting governor stand to lose their position as the tally of the election results come to a close.

The three, Kenneth Makelo Lusaka, Epainitous Moses Akaranga and Simon Kachapin Kitalei, who are Bungoma, Vihiga and West Pokot sitting governors have been on a tight race with their rivals.

As the votes keep streaming in,Kenneth Makelo Lusaka(Jubilee) is still at 174098 votes (42.89%) while his competitor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati (FORD-KENYA) is on the lead with 195784 votes (48.24%).

Vihiga Governor Epainitous Moses Akaranga (PPOK) has so far managed to get 61551 votes (32.35%), while the rival, Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo (ODM) is on the lead with 79699 votes (41.89%).

In West Pokot, governor Simon Kachapin Kitalei (Jubilee) is at  61126 votes (42.17%) while the leading competitor John Krop Lonyang’apuo (KANU) has 83813 votes (57.83%)

The Counties of Bungoma, Vihiga and West Pokot might be having new Governors as we get close to the end of tallying the votes.

Note: Only IEBC is mandated to declare official results
