Preparations for the KCPE exams in West Pokot County are in top gear as candidates are expected to start their exams on Tuesday. The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all the necessary measures have been put in place to ensure there is time and the needed space for the candidates all over the County.
County Education Director Mr. Jared Obiero said that they received the exam papers on Friday and they’ve been dispatched to the four Sub Counties within the County.
“The government has issued two vehicles to every Sub County to dispatch the exam papers,” he said, “Everything is fine and rehearsals have been conducted.”
He said that despite the fact that repeat presidential polls were concluded recently, the Ministry has ensured proper preparation has been done.
A total number of 11,880 pupils will sit for the KCPE exams in 417 exam centres in the County.
However, he noted that there are weather challenges in the area but they’ll try everything possible to access all the schools on time. “We are experiencing heavy rainfall in the area but we’ll try our best to ensure everything is successful,” he said.
West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okello said the County was peaceful and there is maximum security in schools in the County.
