We expect everyone to have gone through the security checks and seated by 9:00 am because want the function to be started by 10:00 am,” said Kibicho.
He said no invitation cards will be required, except where the main dais will be situated, adding that they expect many Kenyans to show up, “We expect 100,000 people and we have made arrangements for the overflows,” he said. He also revealed some roads in Nairobi will be closed as many dignitaries will be present, “Due to the high number of dignitaries in Nairobi, we have zoned the roads and hotels and we have drawn the red zone.”
On the issue of the purported budgetary allocation for the inauguration ceremony, Kibicho said the KSh 300 million set aside is set to cater for two ceremonies, “We will be back here to celebrate Jamhuri Day in two weeks and therefore we will spend the same amount of money for the two functions, the inauguration and Jamhuri Day functions,” he said.
