Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has reinstated a total of three hundred and eleven casual workers who had been sent on a compulsory leave last year to pave way for an audit on casuals employees.
Speaking after delivering a report on the reinstatement of the casual workers, Governor Sang said all the 311 casuals are resuming work with effect from 1st February urging them to do their work with a lot of diligence.
He said his administration, through the public service board, took a step to reinstate all the casual workers adding that the actions they took and subsequent policy changes were undertaken with great haste. He said their terms of work have also been improved, “We have absorbed these casuals on a contract basis and have improved their terms, thus, I need a proper and good attitude from them,” he said.
Concerning the spectacular swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga as the people’s president, Sang lauded Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi for not attending the function at Uhuru Park, “Cowards live long and that’s a good reputation for the three principals,” said the Governor.
