The County government of Nandi through Governor Stephen Sang has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) to supply resourceful learning materials to learning institutions in the entire county.
Speaking to the Media after signing the MoU, Governor Sang cited that the County government is partnering with the KLB in order to provide quality and affordable learning materials for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and the vocational training institutions across the County.
He revealed that the books which belong to the KLB Skillgrow series have already been purchased by the County administration, awaiting distribution to various institutions. “This will provide access to the right resource materials and enhance quality education in the entire county of Nandi,” he said.
Governor Sang revealed that Nandi is the first County in the country to set up such an arrangement.
On his part, Kenya Literature Bureau Managing Director Mr. Victor Lomaria said the partnership will enable them to effectively distribute books to all schools in the County, thus dealing with the nagging issue of piracy that has affected the publishing sector.
