Three people sustained serious injuries after a truck rammed into a
business premise at Mukhonje trading center a long Eldoret – Webuye

According to eye witnesses the truck which was ferrying top dres
fertilizer lost control after brakes failure as it was descending
towards Mukhonje trading centre before it veered off the road as the

crashing four motorbikes and later ploughed its way into the building.
The driver and his conductor together with a woman who was in the
building sustained serious injuries before they were rescued and
rushed to Webuye sub county hospital.
According to the premise owner Mr. Wycliffe Nyota he was relaxing with
his family inside the building when the truck lost control and rammed

Mr. Nyota who runs two shops together with an Mpesa kiosk in the
affected building said he had lost property worth over Kshs. 500, 000.
“Some residents took advantage of the situation to loot my property
before police arrived here and stopped further looting,” said Mr.
Nyota.
Boda boda riders who operates from the Mukhonje stage also escaped
death by a whisker after they were forced to run for safety leaving
