Residents of Loreto in Soy Sub County, Uasin Gishu County are currently living in fear after an unknown wild animal attacked their livestock. Speaking to West Media, residents led by Lucy Sima and Luke Otiato said the killer beast habitually attacks during the night.
According to Mrs. Sima, she was awakened at about 11:30 pm by continuous
sounds of barking dogs, coupled with another strange noise before the dogs went silent and disappeared from the compound.
She said she was afraid to get out and she phoned her neighbour through who came and found her two sheep killed with one seriously injured.

Mr. Otiato said his two sheep had also been killed by the animal. The residents revealed that the wild animal attacks sheep and feeds on their blood, abandoning lifeless carcasses
strewn all over.
They detailed that the predator was causing them sleepless nights as it kills between three to five animals every time it attacks.
Following the incidents, desperate residents are calling upon officers from the wildlife service to visit the area and help trap the marauding animals noting that they are worried it might continue to cause great havoc if nothing is done.
With the wild animals roaming in the area, the residents are not only worried about their livestock but also the safety of their children. They have threatened to hunt for the animal and mete instant justice if action will not be taken.
