Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has said his government will fully deliver the promises of the manifesto given to Nandi residents, mostly in the sectors of agriculture and infrastructure. Addressing residents during the Madaraka day celebrations, Governor Sang noted that Nandi is an agricultural County, with its economy depending majorly on the sector. He cited that his administration has continuously ensured there is a steady supply of milk coolers to farmers across Nandi among other initiatives.
He also pointed out the establishment of a special economic zone in Chemase/Chemelil ward which is expected to provide over 50,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. It will also attract local and international investors mainly in agro-processing, textile industries.
Concerning infrastructure, Governor Sang said his government has devoted substantial resources to improve the transport sector, and have purchased road machinery to facilitate road maintenance and improvements.
On the health sector, the County government has geared towards the steadfast supply of drugs to health facilities across the County in a bid to improve the quality of health services offered.
