Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has offered to play the mediator role between Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and ODM leader Raila Odinga, while at the same time quelling the notion that the NASA coalition is dead. Speaking at a mediation conference at Strathmore University, Kaloznzo said he is an important figure in the coalition and he doesn’t entertain the spreading idea, “I’m seeing on the papers that NASA is on its deathbed. I consider myself an important player and I’m not aware that NASA is dying,” he said.
Kalonzo said that together with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, they’ve no problem, “I have to mediate immediately between my brothers Moses Masika Wetangula and Raila Amolo Odinga because Mudavadi and I have no problem,” he noted.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula had said that NASA is history, “As we always say, those who ignore history run the risk of repeating it.” He said Ford Kenya was in NASA as a coalition of the willing but they suffered a massive betrayal by Raila Odinga. ODM leaders also hit back during a press briefing led by party chairman John Mbadi and they faulted Wetangula’s stance. Mbadi said he failed when he was given the responsibility of leading 28 Senators, “Anger will not take him far.” He criticized the Ford Kenya leaders for attacking Raila Odinga, saying he lacked the political clout to be consulted on national issues.
